It’s been about 53 days since my last post. Yikes! Still here and holding steady with training… except for taking this past week off. My body and soul needed to rest from life period, end of story, Simple as that. Isn’t it great to not have to explain further? The fruits of getting older. š
Today’s run was super charged! I even PR’d on a 5k! My total run was closer to 5 miles by the time I made it home. I took a different route this time and decided on distance when the scenery was no longer pleasant.

I am actually looking forward now to the next long run. I have 14 miles planned for Monday. Let’s see how that goes… Put it on my calendar and don’t think twice, don’t hit snooze, just get up dressed and go. No other way. If I stop to contemplate it, it may not happen. December marathon is getting closer and there’s no time to slack going forward.
The great thing is that the weather is changing, which makes pace and distance that much nicer. I cannot wait for fall leaves to line my running paths! There will be no treadmill running for this girl! I mean how can you even think of running inside when you have views like this to start your day??

I hit 100 miles in August and decided that going forward that would be my monthly goal, with the exception of September. This was a tough month! So many challenges, obstacles, sorrows, but most importantly silver linings. All emotionally exhausting, the good and the bad. So glad September is almost over and Fall is here! God is so good! He aligned Fall leaves changing with same direction, different map (my motto for this upcoming season).
The biggest challenge I am and will continue to face for the time being is my non existent weight loss. I plateaued about three months ago and cannot seem to break it. Starting school and adding miles has not helped the situation at all either. Oh well, I am happy and healthy. I just need to watch my diet more closely and pay attention to the types of calories I am fueling with and up the heck out of my pace! ha ha… It’s a science at my age. I know that. I just hate science! I am so out of luck!
I have a couple of more 4-6 mile runs scheduled for the next couple of days and then rest before my long run. I must remember to hit the running store for more gels and energy supplements. They really make a difference on runs longer than 5. I just hope that I don’t come out with new running gear and new shoes when I go…
